For Coaches & Athletic Directors

Athletic Training Services

SCFA provides athletic training services to five local high schools: Somersworth, Spaulding (Rochester), Dover, Oyster River (Durham) and Marshwood (South Berwick, ME). Our Athletic Trainers are highly trained in on-site evaluation as well as post-injury rehabilitation.

Clinics

In-house strength and conditioning clinics are presented annually. These clinics target fellow strength and conditioning professionals, athletic trainers, personal trainers, coaches, and athletes. We are recognized by both the National Strength and Conditioning Association and the National Athletic Training Association as a local CEU provider.

CPR and First Aid for Coaches

CPR and first aid classes are offered to all area coaches. Classes are scheduled throughout the year to coincide with the start of each athletic season. Two classes are offered each summer.

Video Biomechanical Analysis

Using video, our staff is able to evaluate and analyze the mechanics of athletic movement and many sporting activities such as the pitching motion in baseball or a proper golf swing. This allows for proper diagnosis and subsequent correction of potentially harmful athletic motion and increased sports performance.

ACL Reconstruction Group

This program is for athletes who are six weeks post-ACL reconstruction and would like to regain athletic form under the guidance of strength and condition specialists. The group meets three times per week and each member is re-evaluated bi-weekly by their physical therapist. This is a self-pay program.

Speakers Bureau

SCFA prizes its role within the community as an educator. Our staff lectures extensively in the surronuding high schools, athletic associations, colleges and classrooms on a varity of topics. Some topics include health and fitness, injury prevention and rehabilitation, exercise prescription, strength and conditioning conceptions. Please email inquiries or call (603) 749-6379 and ask for Bill Stewart, Director of the Center for Athletes.
